
The PCM and Pleasantville track and field teams capped off the State Meet with multiple strong performances at Drake Stadium on Championship Saturday.
The Mustangs competed in nine events on Saturday, and had six top eight finishes on the day. The boys sprint medley relay team started the day with a third place finish in a time of 1:32.89, while the boys shuttle hurdle relay team took fourth in 1:00.22. The boys 4×400 meter relay team also secured a top-five finish in Class 2A, taking fifth in a time of 3:22.82. Riley Graber and Gavin Van Gorp secured medals in their individual events, with Graber taking seventh in the 200m dash (22.44) and Van Gorp finishing eighth in the 110m hurdles (15.07). The PCM boys added another point to their Class 2A sixth place total of 34 on the weekend with an 8th place finish in the 4x100m relay with a time of 43.73.
The Trojan boys ran in three events on Championship Saturday, and secured top-eight finishes in all three. Ethan King gave Pleasantville nine of their 11 points on the weekend on Saturday, taking fourth in the 100m dash in 10.88, and also finishing fifth in the 200m dash in 22.23. The Trojans final two points came in the second to last event at the State Meet, as the 4x100m relay team took seventh place in a time of 43.55.
