Indianola Parks and Rec and the Indianola Fire Department is hosting their annual Junior Fire Academy in June. Kathy Kester with the City of Indianola tells KNIA News kids will be able to learn about fire and the job of a firefighter in the course offered by members of the Indianola Fire Department, with activities including learning how hard it is to escape to safety in the smoke house fire safety trailer, how to douse flames with a fire extinguisher, the firefighter obstacle course, and model real fire gear.
