
The Pella Christian and PCM boys golf teams make the trek northeast today to compete in the 2025 Class 2A State Golf Tournament in Waterloo.
The Eagles, who finished as the State runners-up by one stroke a season ago, enter the two-day meet at Gates Park Golf Course as the #3 ranked team in 2A. Pella Christian holds a season scoring average of 159.6 per nine holes, with just three strokes separating them from the top two teams in the rankings in Grundy Center and Columbus Catholic. The Eagles have four of the top 50 ranked golfers in Class 2A going into the meet, led by Eliot Menninga who is ranked #5 individually. Following Menninga in the individual rankings is Deacon Branderhorst at #14, Cooper Spronk at #21, and Landon Fransman at #50.
The Mustangs also enter the State Meet as a strong contender for the 2A title, coming into State as the #5 ranked team in the Class. PCM has a team season scoring average of 162.7 per nine holes, placing them just under seven strokes back of top-ranked Grundy Center. The Mustangs have three of the top 50 ranked golfers in 2A going into State, led by Easton Van Veen and Jeffery McDanel at #17 and #18, followed by Charlie Ford at #43.
The first tee off for Pella Christian and PCM is set for 10:30 am at Gates Park Golf Course in Waterloo.
