
The Indianola boys soccer team dominated Newton in the substate semifinal round Tuesday, winning 9-0. Allan Martinez earned a hat trick, Jojo Amisi and Hunter Chittenden each scored two, and Royer Garnica and Jacob Chickering each had one. The Indians will match up with Denison-Schleswig, who upset North Polk on the other side of the bracket, tomorrow at Indianola Stadium at 7pm.
The Indianola baseball team swept Mason City in a road doubleheader, winning 5-3 in game one and 5-2 and game two.
Taten Atkin got the start on the mound going 5.1 innings pitched striking out six, while Dax Heimbaugh and Dallas Harlan each got two hits and a run batted in.
Bryant Ritchie went a complete game in game two giving up just one earned run, while going 2-3 at the plate, George Blake and Dallas Harlan each had both hits with Blake driving in two.
Indianola is now 5-1 on the season, and begins Little Hawkeye Conference play tonight on the road at Pella.
