Three PCM varsity athletic teams were in action on Tuesday.

The PCM soccer team fell to West Central Valley 4-1 in a Class 1A substate semifinals matchup. The Wildcats put up two goals in the first half and two in the second half. The Mustangs were able to score one in the second but fell short in the contest to end their season. The PCM soccer team ends their season with a 5-10-1 overall record.

The #5 PCM softball team opened their 2025 season with a win on the road over #14 ranked West Marshall 6-3 in a Heart of Iowa Conference matchup. Rylee Parsons was the winning pitcher in the contest throwing 3 ⅔ innings giving up four hits and three runs while recording four strikeouts and Camden Webb came in for a 3 ⅓ inning save just giving up one hit and recording eight strikeouts. Lilian Humpal had a big night at the plate going 3-4 with a double, home run, and four RBI. The Mustang softball team starts their season 1-0 and will travel to Greene County tonight.  

The Mustang baseball team started their season on Tuesday falling in both games at home against Williamsburg in a varsity doubleheader. PCM dropped the first game 15-3 and the second game 11-1. The Mustang baseball team starts their 2025 season 0-2 and will be back in action tonight on the road against Greene County.
