The Knoxville Baseball Squad fell for the 3rd time this season as the Panthers lost to Chariton 3-2 on Wednesday. The Panthers surrendered a run in the 6th inning after a back-and-forth game. Knoxville got up first in the 3rd inning when Luke Roozeboom, back from State Golf, singled and coming around to score was Kyler Gifford. Chariton would take the lead with two runs in the 4th inning, but back came Knoxville in the 5th scoring on an error. But the Chargers would plate the go ahead run and take the lead for good. The Panthers were limited to just five hits and that is something that has Coach Turner Devore worried early on.

Devore: “We’ve left way too many guys on base. The first three games we’ve left 21 guys on, I don’t know how many we left on tonight. Take away an inning from the Ballard and Osky games defensively. We’ve been playing well and pitching has been doing well.”

Knoxville pitchers struck out 13 Chariton batters led by Brenden Woolsey with seven and only two combined walks all game. Knoxville is now 1-3 and has lost all three games by a combined four runs. The Panthers host Gilbert tonight.
