The Knoxville boys golf team took ten strokes off their score on the final day of the Class 3A State Golf Meet in Cedar Falls on Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough to improve on their 11th place standing on the leaderboard.
The Panthers finished the two-day tournament at 324-314–638, while Waverly-Shell Rock held on to the top spot in the field to claim the championship with a 291-297–588. Luke Roozeboom led the way for Knoxville in the individual standings, tying for 31st place with a score of 79-76–155. Brady Roozeboom wasn’t far behind with an 84-75–159 to finish in a seven-way tie for 45th. Mikey DeVos and Grant Gerdes rounded out the team scoring for the Panthers, with both golfers finishing in a tie for 55th, as DeVos closed at 82-80-162 and Gerdes completed the tourney at 79-83–162. Completing the lineup for Knoxville at the State Meet was Urban Ziller at 85-84–169 and Hayden Keefer at 95-106–201.
The Panthers will look to improve upon their 11st place finish at State next year, with all nine golfers in the program set to return in the Spring of 2026.
