Pella’s girls soccer team is a step away from a third consecutive state tournament appearance. The #12 in 2A Dutch defeated Newton 1-0 Wednesday in the Class 2A regional semifinals. Sarah Hardman scored for the Dutch in the 2nd half. Pella travels to #2 in 2A North Polk on Friday for the chance to go to state. The Comets defeated Boone in the second round by a 10-0 margin.

Patrick Bishara finished his high school athletics career in a t-53rd among individuals in the Class 3A state boys golf tournament over the past two days. Bishara shot an eight-over-par 80 in day two to finish at 161.
