The summer sports teams of the Little Hawkeye Conference were up-and-running on Wednesday, with Pella and Indianola each splitting their respective doubleheaders, as heard live on both KNIA and KRLS.

The Indians struck for a game one victory 5-1 on the baseball diamond, with the Dutch winning game two 3-2 in ten innings; the #13 in 5A Indianola softball team was a game one victor by a 7-1 margin, with #13 in 4A Pella rallying for a 5-4 win in the nightcap.

Pella’s softball team starts the summer at 1-1 and will host #5 in 3A PCM this evening; the Dutch baseball team is 5-2 and is off until they welcome DCG to town on Friday. Indianola’s softball girls are also 1-1 and travel to #8 in 4A Carlisle tonight; the Indian’s baseball team is 6-2 is hosts Oskaloosa on Friday.
