pleasantville-3

The Pleasantville baseball team defeated Des Moines Christian at home Wednesday night as the softball team came up short.

Both games were played a day later and made up Wednesday due to weather cancellations Tuesday night. The Trojan baseball team knocked off the Lions 6-1 in a rematch of last year’s substate final. Braylon Bingham got the win on the mound throwing six innings and recording nine strikeouts while only giving up one run and hit. Offensively Brody Adreon went 1-1 with a double and 4 RBI while JJ Phillips had two hits with a double. The Pleasantville baseball team improves to 3-0 on the season.

The softball team fell to the Lions 5-2 in their first game of the 2025 season. The Trojans were up 2-1 going into the top of the seventh with two outs and DMC was able to string together base hits to pick up the win. Taylor Perkins had a single and double in the game while Harper McGraw scored the first run on aggressive base running in the 5th. Ella Clark had a single in the contest and scored the other run. Coach Alee Phillips says her team had a couple of errors that cost them a couple of runs. Phillips adds that they had some great plays as well but ultimately DMC got the base hits when they needed them at the end. The Trojan softball team falls to 0-1 on the season. Both the Trojan baseball and softball teams will be back in action tonight at home against Panorama for varsity doubleheaders.
