The Pella boys soccer team gave #4 in 3A Urbandale all they could handle, but ultimately fell in the Class 3A substate final Thursday by a 2-1 margin. The Dutch kept the match tied through the first half following a Tyson Barnes goal. But the J-Hawks would score twice in the matchup on penalty kicks. Pella finishes the 2025 season with a 7-8-4 record.

Pella’s Karsyn Lyons remained in the hunt for a medal following day one of the 2025 state girls golf tournament. The team was in 8th place following the first day of action in Solon, with Lyons shooting a 77 to hang on to a tie for 12th. Day two of action resumes today.
