It has been nearly five years since Brady Bacon won a USAC show at the Knoxville Raceway. He ended that streak with a win on night one of the Avanti Windows and Doors Corn Belt Clash with the USAC National Sprint Cars. Bacon bided his time while Chase Stockon looked like he would run away from everyone. Bacon waited until the right time and when lapped traffic hit he found a way around and took the win. Bacon told KNIA/KRLS Sports lapped traffic played a key role.

Bacon: “We were just better on the toop and the top was good in 1 and 2. He kept getting jammed up in lapped traffic and Briggs and really good so I just went where he wasn’t a couple of times and guessed right.”

The 360s held a weekly show as well and Ryan Timms has started to make winning a habit at the Knoxville Raceway. Timms won his 3rd overall race at the raceway this season and first in the 360s. He led all 18 laps and never had trouble in lapped traffic. Tonight is night two of the Corn Belt Clash with the weekly 410s running.
