The Knoxville Boys and Girls of Summer ended the week hosting Cardinal on Panther Drive on Friday. Baseball split a double header losing game one 13-2 and winning game two 3-1. In game one, the Comets outhit the Panthers 13-6 while striking out ten times. Brady Roozeboom went 1/3 with two RBI. The nightcap was the opposite as Knoxville held down Cardinal to win3-1 and limit the Comets to three hits. After surrendering a run in the first, the Panthers held Cardinal scoreless the rest of the way and posted three in the 4th inning. Kyler Gifford had two RBI and Grant DeMoss posted the other. Gifford was also brilliant on the mound allowing the three hits and eight strikeouts in a complete game win. The Knoxville Softball Squad struggled again to get runs on the board losing to Cardinal 8-1. Addy Dunkin, Siena Scott, Ralei Danner, and Kadence Wells all went 1/3. Baseball is now 2-5 while softball is 0-3. Baseball travels to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Tuesday while softball will host Oskaloosa on Panther Drive the same night.
