The Indianola City Council meets in regular session Monday. The council will consider appointments to the Planning and Zoning, Parks and Rec, and Public Arts Commissions, a quote from Vice Construction for the Apparatus Bay Drain Reconstruction Project, and an amendment to the fee schedule for EMS billing. The council will also consider an ordinance change regarding fireworks being used within city limits, after the Iowa Legislature passed a law allowing the discharge of fireworks on July 3 from 9am to 10pm, July 4 from 9am to 11pm and December 31 from 9am to 12:30am. The previous city ordinance stopped fireworks at 10pm on July 4th.
After the meeting, the council will meet in a study session to discuss the City of Indianola Tax Abatement Program, and review Vision 2030.
The meeting begins at 6pm in the city council chambers at Indianola City Hall.
