The Indianola Girls Soccer team makes their state tournament debut today as the #8 seed, taking on #1 Waverly-Shell Rock on the Iowa State Campus in Ames. The Indians upset Lewis Central on the road 2-1 scoring the lone second half goal to advance, and have played in multiple close games in their regional to advance, also earning a 1-0 lead over Council Bluffs Jefferson in the regional semifinal.

Their opponent is as tough as it gets in the state, with the Go-Hawks being undefeated on the season, their only blemish being a 0-0 tie with Center Point-Urbana, and have only given up a single goal all season long.

The game will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Mike Hastie on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 1:15pm, with kickoff from the Lied Recreation Center scheduled for 1:30pm.
