After their games in separate locations were both rained out on Tuesday Night, the Pella Christian baseball and softball teams will return to the diamond tonight on the road at Moravia.
The Eagles baseball squad, who had their Tuesday matchup at Centerville moved back to Thursday, will look to bounce back from a doubleheader sweep at home against Norwalk on Monday. Pella Christian will look for their second win against a Moravia squad that is 3-2 to start the season. The Mohawks opened the year with a loss to Chariton, then won their next three games against Fairfield, Melcher-Dallas, and Davis County, before dropping their most recent contest against Fairfield. Tonight’s contest will be the third meeting in as many years for the Eagles and Mohawks on the baseball diamond, with Pella Christian winning both matchups in 2023 and 2024. The Eagles softball team, whose matchup at Albia Tuesday was cancelled due to the weather, will also look to rebound from a pair of losses to Norwalk on Monday to pick up their first win of the season. The Moravia softball squad is also looking for their first win of the season, after falling to 0-7 overall with three losses to Carlisle, Danville, and Central Lee in a tournament at Centerville on Saturday.
First pitch for the single game between the Pella Christian and Mohawks baseball squads at Moravia High School tonight is slated for 7 pm, while the softball game is scheduled to start shortly thereafter at 7:15 pm.
