The final performances of the musical “My Fair Lady” are this weekend at the Newton Community Theatre.

My Fair Lady” is about a flower girl in London who takes speech lessons from a professor, so she can pass as a lady. Showtimes at the Newton Community Theatre this weekend are 7:30 p.m. tonight and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Rachel Faidley has been involved with the local theatre since 2008, and is the music director for this production, and says those in attendance will likely know many of the pieces played during the show.

“There are 28 musical selections in my score. A lot of songs that people will recognize. Wouldn’t It Be Loverly, On the Street Where You Live, I Have Grown Accustomed to Her Face, Get Me to the Church on Time.”

Faidley adds that there are about 35 cast members and a 15 piece orchestra. Tickets will be available at the door and adult tickets cost $18, while tickets for youth 18 and younger are $15. The Newton Community Theatre is located in the Newton YMCA at 1701 South 8th Avenue East.
