The Melcher-Dallas Summer Sports Squads fell to Ankeny Christian on Thursday with the softball squad losing 6-1 and the baseball team being doubled up 8-4. In the softball contest, the Saints were unable to fully take advantage of ACA errors with Ashlyn Metz getting the lone RBI. Gabby Overgaard with two, and Jenna Mickey and Kinley Bennett had one hit each. Lotty Nolte took the loss allowing six runs on six hits and striking out two. The baseball Saints struck first in the top of the 2nd with a run, and held a 2-1 lead before the Eagles took the lead for good in the 4th with three runs and added three more in the 5th to break it open. Austin Remster led the Saints at the plate going 2/3 with two driven in. Leo Schrader took the loss, going four complete.
