
A big 3rd inning was too much for the Melcher-Dallas Baseball Squad to overcome in an 11-2 loss to arch-rival Twin Cedars while the softball squad outscored Lamoni 16-7. Baseball gave up a six spot in the 3rd inning and could not recover, allowing 14 hits while only connecting on three. Austin Remster took the loss going four innings and striking out three. The softball squad was aided by Kesley Reed and Kinley Bennett, both going 4/5 with Reed driving in three runs as the Saints scored six runs to start off the game and as they rapped out 23 hits to Lamoni’s nine. Lotty Notle earned the win going the distance striking out four. The Baseball Squad will travel to Seymour on Tuesday while softball will continue its weekend at the Murray Invitational today.
