A pair of local soccer players earned recognition from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. Pella’s Avary Hunsinger and Indianola’s Lauren Burk were selected to the IGHSAU Class 2A All-Tournament Team.

Hunsinger scored two goals and tallied three assists for the Dutch in 2025, in her third year as a varsity starter for the Pella program. The Dutch fell to state champions DCG by a 5-0 margin to start the 2A tournament.

Burk scored the lone goal for the Indians in their opening round matchup against State Runners-Up Waverly-Shell Rock, which was her 12th in her junior season. She was a key part of Indianola qualifying for their first ever state tournament appearance.
