Darkness may have fallen on the Knoxville Raceway and surrounding area, but Sunshine graced victory lane as Tyler Courtney and several High Limit drivers wandered into Knoxville Saturday for some extra test laps and Courtney came away the winner of the 410s as heard on KNIA. Courtney took the lead about midway through the 20 lap race as Ryan Timms’ car started to go away. Courtney however, almost gave it away in the fourth turn of the final lap when lapped traffic got in the way as he beat a charging Corey Day by just .037. Courtney told KNIA/KRLS Sports after getting his first career 410 winged victory at Knoxville was pretty special.

Courtney: “Got by Brian in lapped traffic and almost gave it away in lapped traffic, I knew I didf the right thing, but didn’t plan on a lapped car hitting the bern and smoking accorss there. Anytime you win at Knoxville it’s pretty special.”

Tasker Phillips, who two weeks ago announced he was running for driver points in the 360s won his 2nd race of the season. After a restart on the initial green flag, Phillips took off and led all 18 laps. Chase Young also dominated the Pro Sprints feature, beating J Kinder to the line. Next week, the World of Outlaws Nos Energy Drink Sprint Cars make their final stop until the Knoxville Nationals for a two night show.
