The swing set project at Auld Park in Knoxville is now complete.
The City Parks and Recreation Department recently finished putting the wood chips down at the base of the set and they are now ready to be used. The old swing set was torn out last year and a new one was then installed but the city was just waiting for the wood chips to come in. At a city council meeting last July, Knoxville Parks and Recreation Director Brandon Nemmers stated in his letter to the council that the old swings were breaking down, which would eventually become a safety issue. The council approved a quote from Play-Pro Recreation for $14,400 for the new set.
The old set had been there since 1994.
