Jasper County Engineer Mike Frietsch will hold his fourth and final scheduled “Ask the Engineer” session at his office on Thursday. Frietsch will be available at 7 a.m., Noon, and 3 p.m. to meet with residents who want to talk to him. He came up with the “Ask the Engineer” idea after reading social media posts. Frietsch says Facebook is a great place for people to express their frustrations, but sometimes he feels what is said and what gets put out there kind of loses control of the message. He believes talking face to face is sometimes the best way to figure things out, plus it gives him a chance to share information with concerned residents that they may not be aware of. The Jasper County Engineer’s Office is located at 910 North 11th Avenue East in Newton.
