The Melcher-Dallas Softball Squad outhit Seymour 5-3, but lost the game 4-0 on Tuesday. The Saints committed three costly errors that turned into runs for the Warriors. Kesley Reed, Hayden Branson, Gabby Overgaard, Brylee Gibson, and Kinley Bennett all collected one hit each for the Saints. Coach Karen Sorensen tells KNIA Sports she is seeing progress with her team, however still young the staff has to remember they are still young.
Sorensen: “We’ve seen a lot of progress in them that we tend to forget that they are sophomores and freshmen. They have grown so much and we forget how young they are, and everyone is filling in and doing what they are supposed to do.”
It was the opposite for the baseball Saints as they pounded Seymour 9-0 on Tuesday. Evan Schrader went 4/4 with two RBI, Austin Remster also drove two in to help his own cause. He got the win going four innings allowing just two hits and striking out eight. Baseball travels to Wayne tonight while softball hosts arch-rival Twin Cedars.
