
The Pleasantville baseball and softball teams each won their respective contests against Interstate 35 at home Tuesday night in West Central Conference showdowns.
The #2 ranked Trojan baseball team had no problem with the Roadrunners defeating them in commanding fashion 15-0 in four innings. Braylon Bingham got the win on the mound pitching four innings just giving up one hit with no runs and five strikeouts. Offensively in the contest Brayden Kennedy had three hits with a double while Noah Rist had three hits and two doubles. Easton Cox and JJ Phillips both had two hits and a home run in the game. The Pleasantville baseball team improves to 11-0 on the season and will be back in action tonight at Grinnell.
The Trojan softball team won their contest 8-5 after scoring five runs in the first inning to start off the game and then one run in the second and two in the fifth. Harper McGraw recorded three hits and four RBI in the contest while Clara Metcalf and Ella Clark both had two hit games. Lainey Kennedy pitched all seven innings. Coach Alee Phillips said her team played really well and made a lot of good plays. The Pleasantville softball team improves to 7-3 on the season and will travel to Newton tonight.
