The Pleasantville baseball team defeated Grinnell on the road Wednesday night as the softball team fell to Newton in non-conference matchups. 

The #2 Trojan baseball team defeated the Tigers 12-7 in eight innings. Brayden Kennedy pitched seven innings giving up three earned runs and recorded six strikeouts. Offensively Logan Roff went 4-5 at the plate while JJ Phillips went 3-6 with three RBI. Kennedy and Braylon Bingham both had multiple hits in the contest. The Pleasantville baseball team improves to 12-0 overall. 

The Trojan softball team fell to the Cardinals 19-2. Pleasantville trailed 5-2 heading into the seventh inning and Newton exploded for 14 runs in the top of the seventh to put the game out of reach. Pleasantville had four base hits in the contest which came from Kally Wysong, Harper McGraw, Kyleigh McConnell, and Lilian Mason. The Pleasantville softball team falls to 7-4 on the season. 

The Pleasantville baseball and softball teams will be back in action tonight for conference doubleheaders against West Central Valley.
