The Elemental Challenge 5K mud obstacle course will be held in Knoxville on Saturday.

The event is open to anyone 13 years of age or older and all proceeds for the event will be donated to the Marion County Humane Society. The 5K mud obstacle will consist of over 15 obstacles, mud, water, hills, climbing, crawling and other surprises. Attendees are encouraged to bring an extra pair of shoes, change of clothes, a towel, gloves, sunscreen/bug spray, and a water bottle. All participants will also be fed a meal afterwards that is being donated by the Knoxville Fareway. The event will be held at 1713 Prospect St. in Knoxville. Brandon Hills is an organizer of the Elemental Challenge and encourages everyone to come out and participate.

“I would just give that big encouragement. It’s going to be awesome to be around people who are just looking to just do something fun and be a part of the community and come out and make some new friends. Everyone is there to just lift each other up and have fun. This isn’t about who’s going to take first place or second place anything like that, it’s just about having fun and maybe stepping out of your comfort zone. The event we did in February there were people who were apprehensive and when it was over they were extremely glad they did it and had a great time.”

The registration deadline for the event has passed, but those still wanting to participate can bring a donation of cat/dog food, blankets, or an animal toy and scan a QR code the day of the event. For complete details about the event, follow this link. Parking will be limited.
