The cost of replacing a 40’ bridge on the Jasper and Marion County line will be split equally by the two counties. Jasper County Engineer Mike Friestch says the estimated $200,000 project is west of County Highway T-14, between East 84th and 88th Streets.

“It’s a drainage ditch to the South Skunk River that cuts north and south and drains down into the South Skunk in Marion County. It’s going to be a 50’ bridge.”

Frietsch told the Jasper County Supervisors he plans to seek bids for the bridge steel in July, with the replacement of the bridge expected later in the fall.
