The Melcher-Dallas Baseball Squad swept the day at the Moulton-Udell Invitational, while the softball squad split its games also at the same venue. Baseball began by crushing the hosts 15-2 a day after blasting the Eagles 22-2 on Friday. Eight runs was enough to blow open the game with the Saints taking advantage of four Eagle errors and six walks issued. Reece Chiabotta went 3/4 and drove in three runs. In game two, the Saints faced their arch rival Twin Cedars and won 3-2 despite being outhit in the game 6-2. Leo Schrader and Tucker Branson got both of Melcher-Dallas’s hits. Chiabotta went the distance to get the win, scattering six hits and striking out three. The softball squad began the day losing to Seymour 7-3. Five errors cost the Saints. Hayden Branson, Gabby Overgaard, and Kinley Bennett got two hits each. Melcher-Dallas came back to rout the hosts 12-2 in the late game, scoring 11 of 12 runs in the 4th and 5th innings. Overgaard led the Saints with three hits.
