The Pella Christian summer sports teams will return to Little Hawkeye Conference action Monday, as they welcome Newton to Eagle Lane for a pair of doubleheaders.
The Eagles and Cardinals previously met during the first run through conference play back on May 30th, and Newton swept both contests. The Cardinals softball team won the early season matchup 15-4 in four innings, while the Newton baseball squad used a five run sixth inning to down Pella Christian 8-4. The Eagles summer sports teams enter Monday’s matchup looking to rebound from losses to Dallas Center-Grimes on Friday, as softball fell 8-0 and baseball lost 11-3. The Cardinals are also looking to bounce back after conference losses against Norwalk on Friday. Newton holds the advantage in the recent meetings between the two schools, winning six of the last seven softball games in the series and four of the last seven baseball contests.
