Following losses to Indianola to end their respective weeks, the boys and girls of summer from Pella High School will try to bounce back with tough tests on the road to Dallas Center-Grimes this evening.

Pella’s #2 in 3A baseball squad (14-3 overall, 8-3 in the conference) is aiming to remove the taste of a tough end to their battle for the top of the conference Friday, giving up nine late runs to the Indians. The Dutch have otherwise been stellar leading up to the midway point of the summer season, as that tilt snapped a nine game winning streak. Pella will try to solve a DCG team (11-5 overall, 8-2 in the league) they haven’t defeated since June of 2023 and in five consecutive games. The Dutch fell 5-2 on May 30th.

Pella’s softball girls (8-7 overall, 6-5 in the LHC) were a few runs away from an undefeated week in a 5-3 loss to Indianola last Thursday, and will seek a similar bounce back in two games tonight. The Mustangs are having another fantastic summer campaign, standing as the #5 ranked team in Class 4A with an 18-2 overall record and a 9-1 conference mark. Pella fell 6-1 in their May 30th matchup in a game compounded by four Dutch errors and a ten-strikeout night for sophomore Tessa Jones.

The Dutch varsity doubleheaders in Dallas Center-Grimes begin at approximately 5 p.m.
