The driver of a car was evaluated after his vehicle pulled out in front of an oncoming train at the 3rd Street crossing in Knoxville earlier today. Knoxville Fire Chief Cal Wyman says the operator didn’t see the train coming and inched into the crossing. The train clipped the car. That driver was taken to the hospital for evaluation with apparent non-life threatening injuries. Responding agencies including Knoxville Fire and Rescue, Knoxville Police, BNSF Railroad, Marion County Emergency Management, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and Alliant.
