The Central College women’s golf and men’s wrestling programs had four student-athletes picked for the At-Large edition of the College Sports Communicator Division III Academic All-District teams Tuesday.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve at the varsity level and achieve a 3.50 or better cumulative grade point average.
Women’s golfer Lydia Grond was recognized for the third year in a row and was joined by teammate and first-time honoree Mickey Martens. Grond was the conference MVP in 2022 and finished in the top 10 at the league championships three times. Martens finished 22nd in her first conference meet.
Sam West of the Dutch men’s wrestling team was a repeat selection. Teammate Jason Hermann was a first-time honoree. West was an all-conference performer at 184 pounds, finishing fourth at the NCAA Division III Region VI Championships. Hermann finished sixth at 174 pounds at the regional meet.
Grond and West both will advance to the Academic All-American ballot.
