A Knoxville woman has been arrested after she was allegedly burning American flags while naked in Bussey on Monday. 

According to court records, on Monday at 4:26 am Marion County Dispatch received a report of a nude female in the city limits of Bussey who was lighting American Flags on fire. Deputies responded to the area and located a female matching the description. The female identified as 21-year-old Brianna Laird of Knoxville allegedly had an American Flag tied around her head and was not wearing pants or underwear. When trying to identify the female, she gave deputies a false name. 

When deputies tried to arrest the female, she is accused of  resisting arrest and hitting a deputy in the face. Laird was eventually placed into handcuffs and put in the back seat of a patrol car but before the deputy shut the door, Laird allegedly kicked the officer. It was learned that the flags that were taken and damaged belonged to the City of Bussey. Laird also allegedly had a bag on her that was taken to the jail. When the bag was searched, it allegedly had drug paraphernalia inside.

Laird is charged with third degree arson, fifth degree criminal mischief, assault on a law officer, indecent exposure, possession of drug paraphernalia, fifth degree theft, and interference with official acts.
