
The Pella Christian summer sports teams will compete in road Little Hawkeye Conference games for the first time since June 6th tonight, as they travel to Norwalk to finish the season series.
The Eagles softball team enters tonight’s contest fresh off of their first doubleheader sweep since 2023, as they took the season series over Newton with 8-1 and 6-5 victories on Monday. The Class 4A #4 Warriors softball team comes into the game with a 19-2 record, and have won their last seven games including Wednesday night’s doubleheader at Davenport Central. Pella Christian and Norwalk last met on the softball diamond for a pair of games on Eagle Lane on June 2nd, with the Warriors winning both games 15-1 and 13-1. Norwalk leads the softball series 31-10 dating back to 2009, and have won the last 11 games between the two schools.
The Eagles baseball squad is looking to build on the momentum of their second game against Newton on Monday, after they split the doubleheader. Pella Christian fell 6-5 in the first game against the Cardinals earlier this week, but bounced back to dominate the nightcap 16-1. The Warriors baseball team comes into the matchup looking to stay above .500 on the season, having won their last three games to improve to 9-8 overall. Norwalk swept Pella Christian in the early June meeting between the two teams, taking game one 16-1, before winning the second game 7-1. The Warriors lead the series over the Eagles 33-10 since 2009, including winning the last 10 matchups.
