Simpson women’s wrestler Paige Gershmel was named the Female Newcomer of the Year and football wide receiver Noah Cracraft was named the Male Newcomer of the Year as announced in the SC ESPYs this week.

Gershmel earned 39 wins and qualified to the NCAA Championships in addition to winning four tournament titles, while Cracraft totaled over 1,000 receiving yards, set a rookie record with 14 touchdowns, and was named the American Rivers Conference Rookie of the Year, the first in program history.

Coach of the Year, Team of the Year, and Athlete of the Year will be announced throughout the week.
