The Pella Christian summer sports squads were scheduled to compete at Norwalk Wednesday night, but the weather had other plans as both games were rained out, and now the Eagles will turn their attention to Knoxville.

The Eagles baseball team will “go the distance” tonight to square off with the Panthers, as the two teams make the trip to Dyersville to compete at the Field of Dreams Movie Site. Pella Christian and Knoxville will square off just across the cornfield from where the iconic 1989 movie starring Kevin Costner was filmed, on the field built by Major League Baseball that hosted two MLB games in 2021 and 2022. The Eagles baseball squad is looking to build on the momentum of their second game against Newton on Monday, after they split the doubleheader. Pella Christian fell 6-5 in the first game against the Cardinals earlier this week, but bounced back to dominate the nightcap 16-1. The Panthers enter the game in Dyersville with a 10-6 overall record, and have won their last three games including a 12-6 win over Newton on Tuesday.

On Panther Drive, the Eagles softball team will try for their fourth win in their last five games, after earning their first doubleheader sweep since 2023 earlier this week. Pella Christian took the season series over Newton on Monday, as they won both ends of the twinbill on Eagle Lane 8-1 and 6-5. The Knoxville softball team is looking to end their recent two-game losing streak, after earning their first win of the season last Friday over Eddyville Blakesburg-Fremont.

Coverage of the Pella Christian and Knoxville baseball game at the Field of Dreams tonight can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS at 4:45 pm. The Eagles softball game at Knoxville will be broadcast live on 95.3 KNIA, beginning with pregame coverage at 6:45 pm.
