The Knoxville Rotary Club made a $460 donation to the Knoxville Music Boosters at their meeting on Wednesday. For many years, the Knoxville Rotary Club has “passed the can”, where members throw in their loose change each week. The proceeds from the can are donated to a worthy cause that is selected by the president. This year’s recipient is the Knoxville Music Boosters, who help with fundraising for instruments, events, and contests and advocating for music programs in the Knoxville Community School District. Rotary Club President Sara Roberts tells KNIA/KRLS she picked the music boosters as the can proceeds recipient because the organization is near and dear to her heart and she has seen first hand all of the work the boosters do for fundraising and making the music programs in Knoxville a success.
