The PCM baseball team defeated Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on the road Thursday night as the softball team fell short at Gilbert after a milestone night for Addison Steenhoek in respective non-conference matchups. 

The Mustang baseball team picked up a 13-6 win over the Rockets. Jensson Hood got the win on the mound pitching 5 ⅔ innings giving up one earned run and recorded three strikeouts. Offensively in the contest Jaden Houser went 3-4 with three RBI, one walk and two runs, Coby DeRaad went 2-5 with two runs, and Izaac Bagby went 2-3 with four RBI, one walk and one hit by pitch. The PCM baseball team improves to 6-7 overall. 

The #3 ranked Mustang softball team fell to the Tigers 4-1. Rylee Parsons pitched five innings giving up five hits and two runs then Camden Webb pitched one inning giving up four hits and two runs. Offensively Libby Winters went 2-3 at the plate with a double and a run and Lilian Humpal went 1-3 with a double and an RBI. Addison Steenhoek went 1-2 in the contest and recorded her 100th career hit and 50th career runner caught stealing. PCM coach Shaun Hudnut said his team had their chances but weren’t able to capitalize with runners in scoring position as PCM left five runners in scoring position with less than two outs. The PCM softball team falls to 14-2 overall.

The PCM baseball and softball teams will be back in action tonight against Grand View Christian.
