The Knoxville School Board will consider the ordering of an election tonight..
This election is for the issuance of $12.4 Million in general obligation school bonds for the construction of a new elementary school in the Veterans District. Community members have been collecting signatures in the last couple of weeks for a bond referendum on the ballot for November 4th. The petition required 108 signatures from eligible voters who reside in the district, equal to 25% of those who participated in the last school board election. The board will also consider a resolution fixing a date for a hearing on the proposed issuance of approximately $26 Million school infrastructure sale, service, and use tax revenue and refunding bonds. The meeting will close with the board considering a high school gym sound system replacement and a girls soccer fundraiser.
Tonight’s Knoxville School Board meeting will start at 5:30 pm at the district office.
