Over $65,000 dollars of school furniture is being purchased for the addition and renovated areas at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in Newton. The school district worked with FRK Architects and Engineers of West Des Moines to design and solicit bids for new furniture for the renovated offices, conference room, nurses’ office, guidance office and staff breakroom. Four bids were received, and the $65,053 quote approved from Premier Equipment and Furniture in Waverly includes installation and a lifetime warranty. Newton School District’s Director of Business Services Tim Bloom says the new furniture will be in place when the next school year begins in August.
