The Indianola at Newton softball game held Monday night was suspended in the fourth inning due to weather.
After a couple of delays for heavy rain and lightning the Little Hawkeye Conference matchup was officially postponed in the fourth as the Indians led the Cardinals 13-6. In game action, the Indians scored five runs in the top of the first inning, but the Cardinals answered right back with five of their own in the bottom. Indianola then scored four more in the second and four more in the third to blow the game open as the Cardinals just had one more run in the second.
The game will be continued at a date that is to be determined. The Newton softball team will travel to Clarke tonight as Indianola will next compete on Wednesday at Norwalk.
