Norwalk’s baseball and softball games against Oskaloosa on Wednesday were both suspended by thunderstorms in the fourth inning. No completion dates were announced. Both varsity games started at 4:00 p.m. in an attempt to avoid the forecasted rain, which arrived shortly after 5:00.
The baseball game was streamed live on kniakrls.com (KNIA3). Oskaloosa scored four runs on one hit in the top of the first and led 5-1 as the Warriors came to bat in the bottom of the fourth.
The Class 4A 2nd-ranked Norwalk softball team scored three runs in the first and led Oskaloosa 4-0 when the game was called in the bottom of the fourth. The game will likely be completed at a later date.
Both Warrior teams will return to action on Wednesday, hosting Indianola in Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheaders. The baseball twin bill will start at 5:00 p.m. and the first softball game will begin at 5:30.
