An annual Thursdays in Pella tradition returns this week to Central Park as agriculture takes over the square. The annual Ag in the City, called the “Barnyard Bash” this year, will highlight the industry through a variety of activities.

This includes the FFA Ag Olympics and Petting Zoo, Many Little Farm Hands, a tractor rodeo from the Red Rock Threshers, the Iowa Corn trailer, sheep shearing, and a wide display of agriculture machinery and implements. The Marion County Cattlemen will bring their food booth back as well.

Thursday’s event also includes the Marion County Farm Bureau’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony on the Tulip Toren, which will highlight Brent and Mary Hanna.

The annual Little Miss Firecracker & Little Mister America Contest, as well as a Farm-Themed Joke Contest, will also be part of the festivities. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio is broadcasting weekly from Thursdays in Pella.
