
A Monroe man accused of assaulting four people in a Newton apartment last Friday was released on a $30,000 bond yesterday. According to Newton Police, 30-year-old Cole Harley Veverka is accused of unlawfully entering a woman’s apartment, and hitting all four occupants in the face, injuring each one. The Monroe man also allegedly caused between $1,500 and $10,000 damage to a Newton patrol vehicle by kicking it after his arrest. Veverka is charged with 1st degree burglary, a class B felony, and 2nd degree criminal mischief, a class D felony. His next court appearance is scheduled for this coming Monday.
