A Newton woman is in jail for allegedly being inside an apartment this past Sunday that a building manager had previously told her not to return to. According to Newton Police, 39-year-old Lisa Mayes Perry-Macklin was seen inside one of the units at Joy Apartments around 10:45 in the morning last Sunday. Newton officers claim Perry-Macklin admitted using the utilities in the North 2nd Avenue East apartment, and had been caught trespassing there before. She is charged with 3rd degree burglary, a class D felony. A court appearance in her case is set for next Tuesday.
