The Indianola baseball team swept Norwalk in a Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader played at Simpson College Wednesday, winning 5-1 and 6-1 with both games heard live on 94.3 KNIA.
Pitching and defense dominated both games for both teams, however Indianola was able to go ahead 3-0 in game one getting an RBI single from Dallas Harlan and taking advantage of a Norwalk error to score two unearned runs. George Blake was nearly flawless on the mound as he stopped any Norwalk run before it started, and the Indians tacked on two more runs in the sixth and seventh innings to get the win. Konnor Holtorf drove in the run for Norwalk.
Asher Brueck took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before the Warriors finally pushed across a pair of hits and a run in the second game. Indianola scored off of RBI hits by Bo Blake and Bryant Ritchie before the seventh, where Indianola added three insurance runs with RBIs from Brueck, Max Wedmore, and Dax Heimbaugh. Eli Benschoter drove in the lone Warriors run.
Brueck said after the game they have been confident as a team and really playing well together, and they need to continue that through the end of the season and play with confidence in every game.

Norwalk drops to 11-11, and will finish their contest against Oskaloosa today.
