
A Knoxville man has been arrested for felony stalking.
Forty-two-year-old Kyle Keller is charged with Stalking-Using a Technological Device, a Class C Felony, and Unlawful Interception of Communication, a Class D Felony.
According to court records, on October 27th, 2024, Keller allegedly placed an audio and video recording device in the master bedroom of a home in Knoxville without the female victim’s knowledge or consent. Keller allegedly used this device to track the victim’s movements and identify conversations between her and other individuals. On October 30th, Keller then allegedly placed an audio recording device in the vehicle driven by the victim without her knowledge or consent. Keller used this device to track her movements and identify those conversations..
Over multiple months, Keller is accused of placing audio recording devices in the vehicles that she drove on multiple and repeated occasions. Keller used the recordings to allegedly listen to, watch and track her movements without her knowledge. Keller is accused of downloading the information from these devices to his computer and then reviewing movements and conversations. Keller continuously documented his observations in a Word document on his cell phone. Investigators with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation claim Keller engaged in this course of conduct directed at the victim to place them in fear for their safety, according to the court documents. From October 2024 thru December 2024, Keller allegedly placed multiple recording devices to the bottom of the driver’s side seat of her vehicle.
Kyle Keller served with the Knoxville Police Department for 16 years, and ended his tenure in January of 2024, several months before the alleged offenses occurred. Keller’s bond is set at $15,000.
