Both Melcher-Dallas Summer Sports Squads fell in their respective non conference games on Wednesday night. The baseball squad took the early lead in the 1st inning, but Central Decatur tied it in the bottom of the 2nd and then scored five runs in the 4th. The Saints got it to 7-6 but got no closer. Evan Schrader led the hitting for Melcher-Dallas going 2/4 with three driven in. Softball ran into a gigantic buzzsaw called Centerville in an 11-0 loss. The Saints were held hitless in the game that was called after 3 ½ innings due to the run rule. Softball comes back home to host Lamoni tonight while baseball will host Seymour on Friday.
