For the second time in less than a week, Lincoln Norris was the hero for the Knoxville Baseball Squad as he clubbed a two run home run in the 9th inning that started a five run rally to help the Panthers defeat Cardinal 10-5 on Wednesday night. The two teams battled to a 5-5 stalemate after seven innings. Knoxville seemed to have the upper hand after tying the game in the 6th and forging ahead in the top of the 7th on a wild pitch that scored two runs. That set the stage for Norris’s heroics. He went 3/5 with two RBI. Knoxville is now 14-8 this season and 8-3 in the South Central Conference. Meanwhile the softball squad got just two complete innings into its game with Cardinal before rain interrupted proceedings with the Panthers leading 6-2 with the 3rd inning just getting underway. The Panthers will return Friday night to resume the game. That means the scheduled home matchup with ADM is now cancelled. Both teams will head to Davis County tonight.
